Position Objective:
The Team Relations Specialist is an administrative position that focuses on managing and guiding employee relations issues, ensuring legal compliance, and supporting managers in performance improvement and disciplinary actions It reports to the Manager, Team Resources, and will collaborate with people leaders to foster positive employee relations, oversee investigations, and contribute to HR initiatives and projects.
Responsibilities:
- Coach, counsel, and guide managers in employee relations issues for assigned business units, including the execution of performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions up to and including terminations, ensuring notifications regarding terminations are disseminated as necessary
- Lead risks and ensure legal compliance for employee-related matters
- Conduct regular check-in meetings with assigned business unit leadership; provide mentorship and interpretation of policy in the Employee Handbook; maintain compliance with state and federal employment laws
- Conduct employee investigations as needed, ensuring collection and entry of proper documentation, provide appropriate follow-up to involved parties, and develop and recommend corrective action plans
- Provide managers/supervisors with advice and direction on employee coaching and corrective actions; champion/facilitate positive relationships between employees and leaders, ensure that strong leadership and coaching culture permeates the organization; champion Better Health Group Services, Inc. culture to assigned business units
- Review annual performance reviews for assigned business units ensuring alignment of appropriate documentation to support employee development; advise with Manager, Team Resources, and as training opportunities are identified
- Develop, analyze, and evaluate quantitative and qualitative data, identify trends or areas of opportunity, and partner with HR Business Partner on action plans
- Maintain knowledge of HR practices and trends; ensure scalability of service through the establishment and maintenance of knowledge base in assigned areas of responsibility
- Assist the Manager, Team Resources on various functional and cross-functional project work as needed; conduct research, perform data analysis, and provide other assistance to ensure projects and initiatives align with innovative standard methodology
- Manage cases with varying levels of complexity (i.e., up to and including but not limited to discrimination, harassment, etc.)
- Remains up to date on employment laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, including but not limited to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and District and federal Civil Rights and Equal Employment Opportunity Acts
- Escalate and partner with senior HR management on complex employee relations (ER) issues
- Support HR/ER-related training for people managers and HR
- Regularly partners with the benefits team to support the LOA process for associates
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements/ Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management, or related field preferred
- At least 3 years of experience in HR, specifically in Employee relations with increasingly complex issues
- Proven ability to work with Google Suite software or equivalent (MS Excel and MS Powerpoint)
- Ability to travel as needed
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and multi-tasking skills with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated resourcefulness, initiative, and results-oriented capabilities
- Must be able to work professionally with confidential information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time
- Communicating with others to exchange information
- Repeating motions that may include the wrist, hands, and/or fingers
- Assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned
- Must be able to lift at least 15lbs at times
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle

Florida-based position, with preference to Tampa, FL (corporate headquarters). Travel will be required, primarily throughout the state of Florida and periodically to other states of operation, specifically Alabama, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Texas.
