Overview

Position Objective:

The Assistant Regional Manager, Provider Operations supports the Management Services Organization (MSO) in assisting primary care physicians who serve Medicare Advantage patients within a value-based care model.  This position provides operational support, leadership, and guidance at a localized level, offering a pathway for career growth while helping ensure high-quality support to affiliate clinics, fostering strong relationships, and driving performance improvement through strategic execution.


Area/Region of Responsibility: Southwest Florida Region (Sarasota-Fort Myers area)

50%+ travel is required throughout region.

 

Responsibilities include and are not limited to:

  • Supports and supervises Practice Coordinators, assisting with mentorship, performance tracking, and development to foster a culture of accountability and collaboration.
  • Directly engages with assigned affiliate clinics to build strong, trusted partnerships and support performance improvements tailored to clinic-specific goals, challenges, and needs.
  • Assists in facilitating regular performance meetings with affiliate clinics to review metrics, discuss improvement strategies, and align on actionable goals.
  • Ensures the consistent communication of Better Health Group programs, policies, and operational resources to assigned clinics.
  • Monitors clinic performance trends in assigned areas and helps implement tailored solutions that align with quality improvement and value-based care benchmarks.
  • Helps oversee and document clinic engagement activities, including meeting minutes, follow-ups, and action plans to maintain accountability and transparency in performance improvement efforts.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with internal teams such as Quality, Compliance, and Operations to streamline initiatives that meet the specific needs of assigned clinics.
  • Proactively identifies and escalates operational issues, performance challenges, or recurring trends to the Regional Manager for resolution.
  • Advocates for affiliate providers within the organization, ensuring operational concerns are elevated and addressed in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Stays current on value-based care trends and best practices in provider performance management, applying insights to assigned clinics.
  • Supports the successful execution of quality improvement programs, including HEDIS measures and other key initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes.
  • Assists with onboarding and supporting Practice Coordinators in learning key performance management processes and operational best practices.
  • Contributes to the overall success of regional performance goals by providing hands-on support and coordination for special projects as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Position Requirements/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, or a related field, preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in account management, provider relations, or a similar role in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience in leading teams and driving performance improvement highly preferred.
  • Proficient with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) for real-time collaboration.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, value-based care, and Medicare Advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, policies, and industry trends.
  • Proven experience leading teams, driving performance improvement, and adding measurable value to operations.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels.
  • Strong ability to understand affiliate clinic goals, challenges, and needs, creating tailored, actionable support plans.
  • Skilled in addressing inquiries promptly, maintaining clear agendas, and following through on commitments.
  • Competent in identifying and escalating unresolved issues or improvement opportunities to management.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on quality execution, delivery, and achieving measurable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness, initiative, and adaptability in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Proven ability to work independently, cross-functionally, and collaboratively with multiple teams.
  • Comfortable influencing and engaging key stakeholders internally and externally.

Physical Functions:

  • Physical ability to sit, stand, and move freely about the office.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, and pull.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 15 lbs.
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory, up to 50% of the time.

Qualifications

- Bachelor degree with strong academic track record.
- Experience with all Microsoft Windows operating systems
- Hands-on user for Microsoft Internet Explorer and related web-based technologies.
- Must have strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision or formal structure.
- Previous experience with client relations and experience in HR systems and/or software project management are significant plus.
