Position Objective:
The Provider Operations Onboarding Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for new affiliate providers during their initial 6+ months with Better Health Group (BHG). This role is responsible for ensuring a seamless onboarding, training, and education experience, enabling providers to integrate successfully into the value-based care model. The Specialist provides structured support, training, and guidance to affiliate providers, ensuring they have the necessary tools, knowledge, and resources to optimize performance and deliver high-quality patient care.
This individual collaborates with internal teams to coordinate onboarding activities, facilitate training, track provider progress, and ensure timely resolution of issues.
Responsibilities include and are not limited to:
- Serves as the primary point of contact for affiliate providers during their onboarding period, ensuring a smooth transition into the BHG value-based care model.
- Develops and implements onboarding programs that provide structured education on BHG systems, workflows, and expectations.
- Delivers training sessions (one-on-one and group) on clinical documentation, HEDIS measures, risk adjustment, quality programs, and operational best practices.
- Ensures provider understanding of performance metrics, reporting tools, and key success factors in value-based care.
- Supports EMR training and assists providers in integrating technology into their workflows.
- Monitors and tracks onboarding progress, identifying gaps and addressing provider concerns in real-time.
- Conducts regular check-ins with providers to assess progress, answer questions, and ensure alignment with performance expectations.
- Facilitates connections between new providers and key internal teams, including Compliance, Quality, Health Services, and Provider Operations.
- Documents key onboarding activities, action items, and resolutions for each provider.
- Supports providers in understanding patient panel management, visit expectations, and care coordination strategies.
- Escalates challenges and recurring concerns to leadership for resolution.
- Builds strong relationships with new affiliate providers, positioning BHG as a trusted and indispensable partner.
- Advocates for providers' needs, ensuring timely responses and issue resolution.
- Collaborates with internal teams to refine onboarding processes and enhance provider experience.
- Gathers feedback from providers to identify opportunities for improving onboarding and training programs.
- Contributes to the development of resources, guides, and job aids to enhance provider success.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements/Skills:
- Associate Degree or technical training in healthcare administration, public health, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in account management, provider relations, or a similar role in a healthcare setting.
- Proficient with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) for real-time collaboration.
- Knowledge of healthcare operations, value-based care, and Medicare Advantage.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, policies, and industry trends, preferred.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels.
- Skilled in addressing inquiries promptly, maintaining clear agendas, and following through on commitments.
- Competent in identifying and escalating unresolved issues or improvement opportunities to management.
- Results-oriented with a focus on quality execution, delivery, and achieving measurable outcomes.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness, initiative, and adaptability in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
